Description

Mid 19th century. Classically detailed villa with unfortunate
modern brick single storey additions enclosing entrance porch
at S elevation, brick and concrete hall to S. 2-storey attics
and basement, stugged ashlar with smooth rusticated quoins.
All ground floor windows architraved with consoled cornice;
1st floor windows round-headed with pilastered reveals, some
bipartite with pilaster mullions. Plate glass glazing.
3-bay S elevation with recessed entrance bay to right single
storey porch with solid ashlar parapet. E elevation with
full-height canted window to right with engaged column
mullions, corniced single window to left; tripartite window
to 1st. N elevation; 3-bay with single and bipartite windows.
W elevation with tall round-arched stair light; projecting
single-storey service wing.
Band course at 1st floor cills and eaves. Ashlar bracketted
eaves with antefixae. Timber tunnel dormers, corniced
wallhead and axial stacks, slate roofs.
Interior much altered with good cast-iron stair balusters.
Ashlar wall and gateway to kitchen court. Low coped ashlar
boundary wall with pair of tall square ashlar gatepiers.
