Circa 1900. Free Renaissance, 4-storey tenements, 4 bays and
facetted angle bay (semi-octagonal) above ground. Ashlar.
Public house at ground with Tuscan pilastrade on pedestals.
4 semi-elliptically arched windows to centre flanked by 2
similar doors to left and 1 to right. Facetted corner is
blind at ground. Entablature over ground floor with cornice
forming cill band to 1st. Upper floors have alternate bays of
canted windows, transomed; at 2nd floor with corbelled
balconies and shaped string course over. Facetted corner
treated similarly. Between are mullion and transom windows;
at 1st floor set in recessed panel with segmental head; at 2nd bracketted cornices. Eaves cornice bracketted and advanced
over canted windows. Parapet shaped over canted and facetted
bays. Return elevation; 4 ground floor bays, similar to front. Simplified details above with 2 corbelled wallhead stacks.
Slate roof with corniced ashlar stacks. Interior of public
house modernised.
