GV II

Small house. Circa early Cl9 with C20 alterations. Slate rubble with red
brick window arches. Slate roof with gable ends and agee cast iron gutters
with lion masks at the joints. Rendered stack at right hand end.
Plan: 2 principal front rooms and central entrance, probably with smaller
service rooms at the back; the left hand part was formerly used as a post
office, probably the post office referred to in Kelly's Directory of 1889.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Symmetrical. 3-window south front. Late Cl9 or
early C20 4-pane sashes in original openings with cambered red brick arches
with small keystones and with slate sills. Central doorway with late Cl9 or
early C20 panelled and glazed door and late C19 or early C20 wooden porch
with wooden latticework in gable and on sides and slate roof with pierced
crested ridgetiles. To left of doorway a late Cl9 or early C20 projecting
shop/post office bay window with 6 large panes on front and hipped slate
roof. To left of porch blocked doorway with cambered red brick arch.
Rear elevation not inspected.
Interior: Not accessible at time of survey 1988.
