Small house. C17 with small C20 extensions. Rendered stone rubble and
possibly cob. Thatched roof, half-hipped to left and gabled to right.
Large painted stone rubble stack at right hand end with set-offs and slate
weathering.
Plan: 1-room plan with a fireplace in the stack at the higher right end and
a stair turret on the rear right hand corner. There might have been a small
unheated room at the left end originally. The entrance is in the left end
wall through a C20 outshut which has a C20 porch on the front.
Exterior. 2 storeys. Asymmetrical. 2-window east front C2O 2-light
casement with leaded panes, 2 on the ground floor with slate hoodmoulds, one
on first floor with eyebrow in eaves above. Doorway and C20 porch to left
in C20 lean-to outshut on left end.
Rear elevation: Large semi-circular stair turret to left.
Interior: Later ceiling joists. Large stone rubble fireplace with
chamfered timber lintel with cyme stops and remains of bread oven. Plank
door at bottom of stairs with H-L hinges. Newel stairs in stair turret.
Roof space not accessible but straight principals visible in chamber are
probably original.
