Public house. Probably C17 extended in C18 or early C19 and C20. Painted
and pebble dash stone rubble. Thatched roof with gable ends. Roof over C20
extension is hipped. Lateral and gable end stacks with pebble dash shafts.
Plan: L-Shaped on plan. The original house is the long north range on an
east-west axis with a lateral stack at the centre of the south side and
another stack at the east end, the internal partitions have been removed and
the range has been extended at the west end. The south east wing with a
gable end stack is an addition of circa C18 or early Cl9 and has an outshut
on its inner west side and a C20 single storey extension on its south end
which returns to the west.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical elevation with C20 casements some with
old slate sills. C20 doors, that on the north front with an open-fronted
porch with a slate lean-to roof. The 3-window east front facing the sea has
circa early C20 8-pane sashes, the first floor with boarded shutters.
Interior: There are no exposed features in the main north range. The roof
structure has been replaced.
