Cox's Farmhouse

5/249

GV II

Farmhouse. Circa early C19. Plastered stone. Slate hipped roof. Rendered
stacks at sides.
Plan: Double depth plan with central entrance between 2 principal front
rooms. The rooms at the back are probably service rooms. There is a large
outshut on the left side of the house which is probably a later C19
addition.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Symmetrical 3-window front plus 1-window lean-to to
the right. The 3 first floor windows are relatively small Cl9 12-pane
sashes with slate sills. The 2 ground floor windows are late C19 or C20
wider 6-pane sashes. Central doorway with later plank door and C20 porch
with hipped slate canopy on wooden posts. The lean-to to the right has a
C19 16-pane sash.
Rear elevation not inspected.
Interior: Inaccessible at time of survey 1988.
