Rowden Farmhouse

Farmhouse on the former Revelstoke estate. Dated 1884 with Baring monogram ECB.
Probably by George Devey's office. Slate rubble with yellow brick dressings.
Scantle slate roof with gabled and half-hipped ends, and pierced ridge tiles.
Wrought iron weathervane at intersection of the roofs. Cruciform plan,
asymmetrical. Two storeys. Wooden mullion-transom windows with leaded panes.
Hipped porch, on chamfered wooden posts, in the angle, and with thin shafted brick
chimney stack above.
External stacks on the side walls with set-offs, one with tablet with date and
monogram, and with large yellow brick shafted flues. Half-hipped dormers, and
pentice hood in the south gable.
