Former mill and millhouse. Circa early C19 possibly with earlier origins,
probably extended in later C19 and altered in late C20. Slatestone rubble walls.
Natural slate roofs, hipped to the mill, gabled to the millhouse. Brick stack at
either end of house.
Plan: mill building is at left and was 1 room on each floor; the house projects
to its right in 2 stages with later additions behind.
Exterior: assymetrical 2 : 3 window front. The mill to the left has C20 2-
light casements with stone hoodmoulds above. Wide doorway to right has segmental
voussoir arch with C20 glazed doors. Flat stringcourse between ground end Ist
floors. The millhouse projects from the right-hand end of the mill in 2 stages
with a large gabled full-height bay at the right-hand end and another gable at the
left-hand end of the front. All windows are C20 casements apart from on early C20
4-pane sash and they have stone hoodmoulds above apart from those to the bay. The
gables have decorative bargeboards. At the rear of the house are lower later C19
additions.
Interior: ceiling beams on ground floor of mill are fairly substantial and
roughly chamfered. Some mill machinery survives on the upper floor.
