6/144 Swan Cottage and Duck Cottage

Pair of cottages. Probably C18 remodelled in circa early C19. Rendered stone
rubble walls. Gable ended asbestos slate roof. Rendered brick stack at left
gable end, rendered rubble stack with brick shaft at right-hand end.
Plan: each cottage has 2-room plan with central entrance. Outer room of each is
heated.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Regular 2 : 3 window front. Swan Cottage to the left has
early C19 horizontal sliding sashes on the 1st floor, 8 panes to the left and 12
panes to the right. Similar windows below of 18 and 8 panes. Central C20 open
porch with part-glazed C19 door. Duck Cottage has early C20 2-light casements on
the 1st floor and C19 small-paned ones below. C20 central open porch with part-
glazed door behind.
