DIPTFORD

SX75NE Butterwell approximately
5/186 40 metres SSW of Ashwell

GV II

Butterwell. Circa early C19. Slate rubble with slate roof. Rectangular
on plan with an open front and monopitch roof of large slates. The door is
missing. Inside there is a slate shaft.
The clump has a slate 'threshold' in front.
The butterwell is gradually being pushed over by a large oak tree which is
growing behind.
