Coach house, stables
SX75NW linking wall adjoining west
of Bradridge House



Coach house and stable with loft above linked to Bradridge (house) qv by a
screen wall. Early C19 probably contemporary with the remodelling of
Bradridge, therefore circa 1830. Local slate rubble. Slate roof with
gabled ends.
Plan: Rectangular on plan facing the courtyard to the east; the stables
occupy the right hand end and the coach house the left hand end. The left
hand gable end which faces the garden is treated architecturally and is
linked to the rear corner of the house by a short curved wall screening the
courtyard from the garden.
Exterior: 1 storey and loft. The east front facing the courtyard has
double doors to the coach house on the left and doors to the stable to the
right flanked by 2 small 4-pane casements.
The left hand (south) gable end is treated architecturally with a parapeted
gable and plain flanking pilasters; the ground floor has a shallow porch
with flashing recesses all with flat red brick arches the porch with early
C19 glazed outer doors and hall glazed inner doors, above which is a C19
10-pane window with red flat brick arch.
