Milestone. Circa 1824 Small granite monolith with roughly rounded top and
splayed front inscribed in upper and lower case lettering with serifs; the
right hand side "To Dart no 10" the left hand side "To Mod 6½" It seems
the stone has been put on the wrong side of the roof because Modbury is to
the right (west) and Dartmouth is to the left (east). The 1824 Turnpike
Act initiated the Darmouth-Modbury Turnpike Trust.
