Description

DITTISHAM
SX85SE
Footbridge at NGR 851 545
11/258 about 440 metres S of
Bramble Torre

II

Footbridge over stream. Circa early to mid C19. appears to be slate
rubble with arch ring of dressed probably local limestone.
Small single span footbridge with small round arch and parapets splayed out
over the abutments. There is a second very small arch through the west
abutment which takes the leat to a disused mill pool. The roadway
immediately to the south of the footbridge was formerly a ford which has
been filled in apparently in the 1960s.
