Probably originally stables, later used as cider house and now in use as a
barn. Circa early to mid C17. Finely coursed slate with slate dressings.
Chamfered slate plinth and eaves. Grouted scantle slate half-hipped roof,
with early crested ridge tiles.
Plan: Rectangular plan stables with central entrance and hay loft above.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Wide central doorway with timber lintel doorframe and
plank doors. Left and right one window on each floor. Left hand has moulded
timber frames of 3 lights, outer chamfer and inner ogee mould with ogee
mullions; ground floor mullions replaced with square section mullions. Ground
floor left hand window has slate hood-mould. Right hand windows have timber
frames with square mullions, some removed. Two rows of pigeon holes below
eaves, with chamfered slate ledge below centre of lower row.
At rear left hand (higher) end a first floor loading door with old chamfered
timber frame with carpenters mitred joints.
Interior: Floored at higher (north) end only, with chamfered beams with step
stops. Roof has collars halved and pegged to face of principals.
