Well-detailed Arts and Crafts public building, 1912 - spoilt by recent substitution
of glazed entrance for central window (original entrance at side, with segmental
hood on paired console brackets now blocked). Red brick with stone dressings,
half-timbered gable at front with coat-of-arms in plaster. Dominant hipped roof
of tile on white timber cornice, gripped at corners by small square towers of
brick and stone. Similar towers separate bays with mullioned windows on long
south flank. Central copper cupola with decorative weathercock, on tall leaded
base. Good spoutheads. Neat grooved tooling of stonework.
