2-storey thatched cottage of brick 4 windows wide, probably Cl7, forming lower
eastward extension to New House. Gabled porch with scissor braces on brackets,
probably circa 1850. Stringcourse. Casement windows, mostly 3-light, with thicker
frame to central opening light (massive hinges to 1 window); diamond lattice
glazing, leaded. East gable has large chimneybreast with 3 set-offs to one side,
stack with brick cornice and higher extension. Secondary chimney on ridge.
Rear (north) has asymmetrical projection.

No 16 (New House), New House stable, No 17 and Magdalen Cottage, Holdenhurst Road
(Holdenhurst Village) form a group.
