Gate Piers and Gate to Park. C17, mid C19 gates. Ashlar piers with banded
rustication. Capped by modillioned cornices and surmounted by carved lions heads.
Wrought iron gates with spear headed shafts. Segmentally curved top rail. Locks
(much decayed) contemporary with gates bearing wheatsheaf motif "RCHM, Dorset,
Vol III" HMSO, 1970, p250, no. 4, Newman J and Pevsner N "The Buildings of England:
Dorset" Penguin, 1972, p396.
