ST 71 NW STALBRIDGE THORNHILL

and walls

Lodge. Dated 1861. Squared, dressed rubble with modern tile roof and gable ends,
ashlar dressings. 'Picturesque' asymmetric plan in C19 'Tudor' style. 2 storeys
with modern addition. Ground floor has canted bay with stone mullioned windows.
Above is a plain casement window under a square label. C20 porch to right.
Moulded wooden barge-board. Staged chimney to the left with octagonal terra cotta
flues. Gate piers and flanking walls, possibly of the late C18, forming the
entrance to Thornhill house are adjacent.
