House, now shop. Late C16 or early C17 with C18 and C19 alterations. Walls
partially brick and partially timber framed, tiled roof. Ground floor has
central door flanked by 2 C19 shop fronts. First floor has two sash windows.
Timber framing on the side walls is exposed in Dover's Entry. The roof timbers
were not examined but are reported to be original. The building is listed for
its early features rather than its facade. "RCHM, Dorset, Vol III", HMSO, 1970,
p281, no 37.
