Drinking fountain and trough, early C20. Cast by Mitchell and Sons, Bristol.
Mainly cast iron on a ceramic brick base. The fountain is four sided. The
lower stage bears inscription on two sides and the outlet on another. The
next stage is separated from the first by a moulding of bound reeding and has
four panels bearing a lion surrounded by rushes over a rose. Above this is a
simple capital surmounted by a finial of 2 dolphins entwining a trident. The
inscriptions are to two local doctors, father and son, J Comyus Leach MD JP
and E Comyus Leach BA Surgeon.
