Farmhouse

Farmhouse, C17 with mid C19 north extension. Ashlar and squared
rubble brought to courses. Gable-ended stone-slate roof with stone
copings bearing square finials. Symmetrically disposed ashlar
stacks each side of ridge at gable ends. Chamfered plinth. Weathered
and ovolo-moulded string courses. Symmetrical west front. 2 storeys
and attics, 4 bay. 3-light, hollow-chamfered stone-mullioned windows
with returned labels. Upper floor outer bay windows are blocked.
Attic windows retain iron casements with leaded-lights. Lower
windows contain casements with horiztonal glazing bars. Gabled
central porch with moulded, 4-centred head in square surround. Porch
gable has stone coping with square finial. C20 plank door. The east
facade has 2 and 3-light stone mullioned windows and a stair tower.
The 2 storey C19 extension has 2-light, leaded-light casements to the
upper floor and 3-light C20 casements to the ground floor. Internal
features (RCHM): Open fireplace with a moulded, square headed surround;
oak panelled walls with a moulded cornice; 2 blocked open fireplaces;
elm newel staircase.
