ST 8512 IWERNE COURTNEY OR SHROTON THE CROSS

11/89 Hellum Farmhouse

GV II

House, mid C17 with partial brick refacing dated 1775, the western end appearing
to be later than the original build. Whitewashed, rendered walls. Thatched roof
with brick stacks right and along the ridge to the left. 2 storeys, irregular
fenestration. C19 casements with horizontal glazing bars of varying numbers of
lights. Part-glazed door in west gable wall. One fireplace has a 4-centred,
chamfered timber brassummer. 2 deep chamfered ceiling beams one of which has
ogee stops. Collar beam truss roof.
