2/26 Former brewery building
20m south-west of the
Village Hall

GV II

Former brewery, now used as builder's store. Probably c1777. Originally worked
by water power. Walls Of flint and brick banding, brick dressings. Concrete
tile roof. 2 storeys and loft, the lowest storey a semi-basement. At right
angles to road. North-east wall has, on lowest floor, 5 windows with segmental
arches. Part-glazed, part boarded. C20 garage doors, and one blocked window.
Upper floor has 4 similar windows. Gable end to road has sack hoist at high
level, with loft door below. Below this, 2 windows on each floor, with segmental
arches, - upper ones glazed, lower ones louvred. Later brick lean-to on south,
with corrugated sheeting roof. Remains of wheel pit south of the building.
