2/30 Thatched House (formerly
listed as "Nos. 1, 2 and
16-2-72 3 Lower Farm Cottages"

GV II

Detached house, formerly 3 cottages. Centre part C17, extensions at each end,
probably in C18. Walls of flint and brick banding, with brick dressings, hipped
thatched roof, 2 brick stacks - one each side of centre. One storey and attic.
C20 oak door in open timber thatched porch. Front wall buttressed. Left section -
single-storey, has 3 casement windows with glazing bars. In main section, ground
floor has 4 casement windows with glazing bars. Attic has 4 dormers with similar
casements. C20 rear lean-to under thatched catslide roof.
Internally, 3 large open fireplaces survive, 2 with bread ovens. Several chamfered
ceiling beams. In centre section, 2 jointed-cruck trusses. RCHM Monument 12.
