Mill House

Former water mill and attached mill house. Probably late C18. The house has
brick walls, hipped slate mansard roof, brick end stacks. Double-pile plan.
2 storeys. C19 porch with brick wall base and glazed timber framing above,
and gabled slate roof. Ground floor has 2 casements with horizontal glazing
bars, under brick arches. 3 similar windows on first floor. Mill, now
incorporated in house, has brick walls and slate mansard roof. 2 storeys and
attic. Stable door. Ground floor has 2 C20 casements. First floor has French
door in former loft door opening and 2 casements with cast iron glazing. Attic
has 2 dormers with casements with cast iron glazing. In house, main ground
floor room has large open fireplace with timber lintel. Some exposed ceiling
beams. Mill section has some original timbering but no machinery. RCHM
