1853. Architects: R C Carpenter and W H Slater, probably. South front
to Quadrangle of 1 storey and attic. Plain-tile roof with stone coping
and kneelers; stone walls, ashlar quoins. To right hand above, 2-light
mullioned window with gable over each light with four-centred head, and
carved spandrels. To left hand above, small projecting corbelled chimney
stack with small single-light cusp-headed window to right hand. On ground
floor at right hand end a 2-centred stone doorway, moulded; door with cover
strips and elaborate hinges; to left hand again, a 3-light window and a
single light window, each light with four-centred head. In west gable
end, a two-light window above and below; four-centred heads to lights;
dripmoulds. Entrance to Custos Lodge through the adjoining Tower [See
Sherborne School, North Block].

The following buildings of Sherborne School surround the greens immediately
to the north of the Abbey Church of St Mary and form a group with themselves
and with the Abbey Church of St Mary.
