House on corner of Abbey Road, the Cheap Street front adjoining No 46.
One of the Houses attached to Sherborne School right hand part of Cheap
Street front is probably C16 or early C17, lower storey stone, 2 storeys
above timber-frame with timbers exposed. 1 gable and 2 cock-lofts to 2nd
floor with small 2-light oak mullioned windows. Stone slate roof. 1st
floor has 3 moulded timber oriels, one 5-light, the others 7-light. The
3-light mullioned windows to ground floor are modern or restored. Restored
lead glazing throughout. 1st floor oversails and has stone corbel at left
hand end is set back, the return wall being of stone, with gable, and having
stone mullioned windows, one altered. Entrance front is also of stone,
with gable, and has round-headed doorway with moulded stone archivolt,
imposts and keystone. Date in spandrels 1649. Good mid C17 staircase
internally. C19 bay facing Abbey Road.

Nos 2 to 30 (even) and Nos 34 to 50 (even) form a group.
