Appears to incorporate 3 old houses, the two facing the road being C17
and a back wing earlier. On right hand of road frontage is a good mid
C17 stone rubble front, 2 storey and attic. Flanking doorway are 3 storey
bays, splayed to two lower floors, corbelled out square to 2nd floor and
gabled. Gabled half-dormer between them. Stone slate roof. Stone mullioned
windows, painted. Stone doorway has raked head, giving effect of 4-centred
arch. Moulded and chamfered stone jambs and head. Original nail-studded
door. On loft hand is No 6. 2 storey 4 window coursed rubble front, probably
later C17. Stone mullioned windows, altered to ground floor. C18 pedimented
hood on splayed brackets to doorway. Stone slate roof. Interior C17 features
and fireplace.

The listed buildings on the South Side of The Green form a group with No
2 (The White Hart Public House) Cheap Street.
