1853. Originally the entrance to Sherborne School. Ashlar. To centre,
wide pointed and moulded arch flanked to left hand by 1 buttress and to
right hand by 2 buttresses, all with 1 offset; crenellated parapet. To
left hand, narrower arch with carved foliated spandrels and crenellated
parapet. Carved quatrefoils or mouchettes to spandrels of main arch; relief
of Royal Arms (added 1889) above in space between arch and parapet. Iron
gates.
