5/28 Valehouse Farmhouse
GV II
Farmhouse. C17. Course and squared rubble walls with brick dressings.
Thatch roof, half-hipped to right hand, gable-end at left hand. Two brick
stacks, right hand one renewed, both at ridge and one C20 brick stack at
rear eaves. Two storeys. Four windows: wooden casements of 3 lights with
glazing-bars. Wooden lintels and cills. Door with stone straight-
chamfered jambs under a 3-centred head. Interior: deep-chamfered beams.
Two open fireplaces, one with a depressed-arch wooden lintel. Plank-and-
muntin partition with ogee-moulded muntins. Source: R.C.H.M. Dorset I,
