ST 61 SE BISHOP'S CAUNDLE CAUNDLE STREET (NORTH SIDE)

2/27 No 542 and Saddlers
Cottage

Pair of cottages, probably late C18 though perhaps with an earlier
core. Coursed rubble walls with thatched, gable-ended roofs. Brick
stacks to the left end of each cottage, that to saddler's a C20 renewal.
2 storeys, 6 window range. 2 and 3-light casements, those to the upper
floor having leaded-lights and thoseto the ground floor having either
full or horizontal glazing bars. Saddlers has a plain wooden door and
No 542 has a 6 flush panel, part-glazed door with a segmental iron hood.
