ST 70 NW BUCKLAND NEWTON BROCKHAMPTON

6/44 Brockhampton Farmhouse

GV II

Farmhouse, C17, intensively remodelled C18. Ground floor of coursed
rubble with brick first floor. Brick plat band. Thatched roof,
gable-ended left and hipped right. Left gable has stone coping. Brick
stacks to left end and part way in along ridge right. Projecting 2 storey,
hipped brick porch. 2 storeys and attic, 4 window range 3-light C20
casements with leaded-lights. Similar 2-light casements in dormers.
Ground floor windows under segmental brick arches. Porch has round
brick arch with rubbed brick imposts. Right and left sides of porch have
oval bulls-eye windows with ashlar surrounds. Internal features: cross
passage flanked by reeded plank and muntin partitions. Fireplace with
chamfered stone jambs and bressumer. Deep stop-chamfered ceiling beams.
