7/33 7 Table Tombs in St Mary's
Churchyard

7 Table Tombs. (1) In angle of north porch and aisle wall. Stone with
2 panelled sides on each face. Dated 1707 on rear face. Very flattened
ovolo-moulds. Heavy moulded cornice. (2) 8 yards north of porch, stone,
that of Samuel Cox, died 1741. Panelled sides with modillions and heavy
moulded cornice. (3) North east of porch by 6 yards, inscription
illegible, fielded-panel corners. (4) 7 yards west of tower, stone to
Edward (?) Lockner, died 178-. Corners with 3 tiers of fielded panels.
(5) 10 yards north west of Tower, stone with flat ovolo panels, dated
1719. (6) 17 yards west of tower, with 3 tiers of fielded panels at
corners, inscription illegible, Heavy cornice with low hipped top, mid
C18. (7) In mid C18 style but to Thomas Fox, Gentleman, died 1859.
Panels have (incorrect) straight-chamfered framing.
