ST 6601 CERNE ABBAS ACREMAN STREET, (west side)

11/56 Giant View

GV II

Former Union Workhouse, now private flats. 1836 and 1841. Rendered
walls with hipped slate roofs. Brick stacks on 2 projecting wings
and on the front range. Cross-plan of ranges with outhouses at
ends of front range. 3 storeys. 4 windows, to front and to
street, 2-light cast-iron casements, wood cills. Doorway at
centre, 2-leaf and panelled, C19. North and south wings also of
3 storeys, 5 windows long. Rear wing. Two outbuildings to
front, rubble-stone, painted, and with hipped slate roofs.
