ST 50 SE RAMPISHAM BROOMHILL

3/136 Rectory Cottage and
Old Broomhill Cottage

GV II

Two attached cottages one former old rectory. Mid C17, and
Old Broomhill with C18 restoration (brickwork). Rubble-stone
and chalk-block walls, with brick and flint banding to Old
Broomhill. Thatch roof, with a gable end at left hand, and
half-hipped at right hand. Brick stacks at left hand gable,
at ridge right of centre, and towards right hip. 1½ storeys.
6 windows, 3 and 3. 2- and 3-light casements, (Rectory with and
without glazing-bars; Old Broomhill with glazing-bars) wooden
cills. Doors: Rectory has a blocking at hand, plank door
at left centre with 2 top lights, C20. C20 wood slatted porch
with thatch canopy over. Old Broomhill, plank door right of
centre, with one lozenge light, C20. Catslide thatch outshut
to Rectory Cottage.
