one metre east of
chancel of Church
of St Mary

GV II*

Table-Tomb. Early C18. Stone, with one recess panel each side, deeply carved
pilasters with memento mori, rounded ends. Shield of arms on east end, and several
skulls on west end. Inscription: "Here lyeth the body of Francis Bennett of
Merefield-house (sic) in the parish of Cattistock who died the 6 day of May A° Drii
1728. Aged 73".
