War Memorial

II

War Memorial, 1917. Ashlar stone sides with a steep stone slate roof,
with intersecting arched bracing. Stepped recess. Framed area within, has
pilasters, bases and carved capitals with wheatsheaves. Tympanum area has
carved sunset and clouds. Slate tablets with the names of the fallen, and
those who served. Capital letter inscription. "Greater love hath no man
than this. That a man lay down his life for his friends." Carved arms of
St George on the front walls.
