GV II
Three entrance-piers, and attached walling. Mid C19. Ashlar-stone piers,
with inset linenfold panel and monogram CWD. Moulded pedestal, cornice
and capstone, each with a Portland griffin, holding a coat-of-arms of Digby.
Low sleeper wall, curving to north, with ornamental iron railings over.
Attached walling to right of the pedestrian entrance, rock-faced masonry
with ashlar capstones. Two ashlar gate-piers at south end of this wall,
have moulded cornices and hipped capping. Gate-piers are being reset to
previous positions. (July 1985).
