ST 6013-6113 CHURCH ROAD (west side)
Nos 421, 422 & 423 (formerly
16/141 listed as 3 cottages
31.7.61 east of Manor Farmhouse)

GV II
Three attached cottages, with no. 423 being at right angles (see below).
Later C18. Coursed rubble-stone walls. Pantile roofs. Brick stacks
at left hand end, ridge centre and right hand gable. Two storeys.
4 windows, 2 and 3-light C19 wood casements with glazing-bars. Wood
cills and lintels. To. 421, plank door at centre in wood frame.
No. 422, plank door right of centre with weatherboard and wood frame,
C19. No. 423 has rendered rubble walls, thatch roof with gable ends,
brick stacks at gable ends. Two storeys. 3 windows, 2-light C19 wood
casements with glazing-bars. Front door at centre, plank with wood
frame, C19. Attached extension at left hand end is not of special
interest. (RCHM, Dorset I, p 250(6)).
