EVERSHOT

5/9 Station Lodge
II
Detached Lodge. Dated 1859. Dressed stone walls, with ashlar Ham-stone quoins
and dressings. Tile-hanging to jettied upper storey. Clay-tile roof (fish-scale
tiles). South and west gables have ornamental barge-boards, and trelliswork
fill, supported on wooden posts. Stone stack with cornice, at junction of the
2 ranges. One storey (west range) and 1 1/2 storeys. Irregular fenestration,
ovolo-moulded stone mullions with lozenge-leaded lights. Iron casements. Square
bay under south-gable, canted bay under west gable. Porch, facing south, has
stone gable-coping and moulded kneelers. Moulded jambs and depressed-arch head.
Datestone has shield with coronet and I (for Ilchester) over doorway. Panelled
door, C20.
