Pair of cottages, formerly one house. Mid-C17 origin, altered in late
C18-early C19, and divided into 2 cottages in mid-late C19. Now largely
in Regency style. Plastered walls, tiled roofs - shaped bargeboard to
right end gable. One brick stack at left end, one near right end. No. 1
at right end, has a single-storey extension on right - a former wash-house.
Entrance in this. In main house, ground floor has one casement with lead
lights and one with glazing bars. First floor has one casement with lead
lights and one C20 casement with glazing bars. Main ground floor room has
large open fireplace with chamfered timber lintel. One exposed ceiling
beam. Room right of this originally a shop. No. 2 has trellised porch with
concave roof and a G-panel door. Ground floor has one C20 casement with
glazing bars. First floor has 2 casements with lead lights. C17 stone
mullioned window on ground floor of left gable wall, and another, built-up
on first floor of this wall. Remains of mullioned window in rear wall,
altered to form door.
