PUDDLETOWN

SY 79 NW CHINE WALL

Terrace of 6 estate cottages. Date plaque in centre, 1869. Brick walls
with ashlar stone dressings and splayed plinth. Slate roofs. 4 brick
stacks with ashlar quoins spaced along ridge. 2 storeys. Each cottage has
a ledged door, with fanlight, stone jambs and lintel with projecting
keystone. In each cottage, ground floor has one 3-light stone mullioned
window, and cast iron glazing. First floor has one 2-light and one
single-light similar window. Single storey extensions at each end in
matching construction. Good unaltered example of Victorian estate cottages.
