Probably C16 origin, enlarged in C17. Timber-framed walls with brick infil.
South gable wall rebuilt in modern brick. Thatched roof, brick stack. One
storey and attics. Original small open-hall house with cross-passage in
service room at south end. In C17 a large chimney stack inserted in service
room, and two further rooms added, forming a three-room lobby entrance plan
house. Main elevation has ledged door. Ground floor has two casement windows
with glazing bars. Attic has three dormers with similar casements. Deeply
chamfered ceiling beams in hall, parlour and kitchen. Inserted plant and
muntin partition at rear of hall, forming passage to kitchen. Large open
fireplaces in hall and parlour, part built up. Upper part of circular curving
chamber survives in room over parlour.
