Shown on OS Map as Lodge. House, originally a lodge at entrance to park.
Mid-C19. Brick walls, tiled roof with crested ridge tiles and carved
bargeboards. 2 brick stacks with diagonally set shafts with moulded caps. In
cottage orné style. One storey and attic. Main elevation has projecting
gabled wing at left end. In this, ground floor has a canted bay window, with
casements with horizontal glazing bars and hipped roof. On first floor, a
segmental headed casement with horizontal glazing bars and moulded stone
lintel. Above this, in gable, a curved-sided triangular stone panel inscribed
"RGG". Right of the wing, a porch with catslide roof and ornamental timber
gabled hood on shaped brackets, over ledged door. Right of porch, a range
parallel to road has, on ground floor, one casement with horizontal glazing
bars under segmental arch. In attic, a half dormer, gabled, with casement
with horizontal glazing bars. House extended to rear in matching construction
in later C19 or early C20. Picturesque.
