Detached cottage. Early C17, enlarged C1950. Timber framed walls, with some
wattle and daub, some brick, infilling. Thatched roof with part coped gable
at south end. Brick end stacks. At right angles to road. 2 storeys. C20
single storey flat roofed extensions at left end and at rear - this last now
contains entrance. Original range appears of 2 builds, - 2 adjacent main
vertical posts. Ground floor has 3 casements, one with glazing bars, one with
lead lights, and one with part glazing bars, part lead lights. First floor
has 4 casements, one with glazing bars, 3 with part glazing bars part lead
lights. Internally, 2 large open fireplaces with timber lintels. Some deep
chamfered ceiling beams. Original timber - framed partitions on upper floor.
Original roof structure survives. (R.C.H.M. Monument 10. Dorset Vol V).
