Detached cottage, - former small farmhouse. Probably C18. Plastered cob
walls, thatched roof, brick end stacks. At right angles to road. One storey
and attics. Ledged door in thatched porch. Ground floor has 4 casements with
centre horizontal bars. Attic has 3 dormers with similar casements. Small
single storey extension at left end, linked to a single storey range at right
angles to house, incorporating former stable. Internally, large open
fireplace with bread oven. Some exposed ceiling beams. Garage west of house,
originally a farm building, of cob, with thatched roof. Original house
largely unaltered. (R.C.H.M. Monument 54. Dorset Vol V).
