Farmhouse, now in 2 units. Probably early C18 - main front range may be
slightly later. Brick walls with some burnt headers on front elevation,
hipped thatched roof; brick stacks with oversailing caps sited irregularly.
Front range 2 storeys, rear ranges one storey and attics. Plan consists of
main front range and 2 adjoining rear ranges with parallel roofs and central
valley. On main front elevation, left section has plat band at first floor
level. Brick buttresses. Ground floor has 3 casements, one with lead lights,
2 with glazing bars. South elevation contains entrance. At right end of this
the front range projects. This has one casement with glazing bars on ground
floor. Left of this a porch with tiled lean-to roof carried on timber
columns. Ledged door. Left of the porch, ground floor has 2 casements with
glazing bars under segmental arches. Attic has 2 dormers with similar
casements. At left end, an attached outbuilding has walls part brick, part
weatherboarded. Internally, some chamfered ceiling beams, raised panelled
doors and hob grates. Largely unaltered. (R.C.H.M. Monument 8. Dorset Vol
