Detached house. Original section C18, enlarged to east c1858. Original part
a former small farmhouse, has plastered walls, tiled roof with coped gable at
left end; brick stack, part plastered, at left end, with ornamental pots. 2
storeys and attic. Ground floor has 3 pairs of French doors with bordered
glazing, behind C20 conservatory. First floor has 3 sashes with vertical
glazing bars. Lion-head ornament on eaves gutter. Attached former
outbuildings at rear, now incorporated in house. Mid-C19 range at right end
has plastered walls, tiled roof with bargeboards to gables, brick end and
centre stacks. 2 storeys. Ground floor has 3 pairs of French doors with
bordered glazing. First floor has 3 sashes with bordered glazing and blind
boxes. Internally, original section has some chamfered ceiling beams. One
C18 fireplace, some C18 raised panel doors. First floor room in rear wing has
domed ceiling. In later wing, cut string stair with wreathed handrail and
slender moulded balusters. (R.C.H.M. Monument 13. Dorset Vol V).
