Manor Farmhouse

House. C16, mainly early C18, with alterations of the late C19. Walls of
brickwork in Flemish bond with blue headers, 1st floor band, red rubbed flat
arches, small section of English bond (C16) and another small area of
ironstone rubble. Hipped tile roof, with coved plaster eaves. Narrow
rectangular block, having fragments of earlier structure; symmetrical north
front elevation of two storeys five windows. Sashes in exposed frames,
slightly wider than the original openings. The doorway has a canopy with
panelled soffit, on carved brackets, cemented architrave, and 4-panelled
door. The rear elevation has been rebuilt, with 5 above 6 sashes and 3
hipped dormers. The interior has wood tie-beams and an-upper ceiling beam
with large chamfers, and walnut doors (from another house). A C19 single
storeyed service wing extends to the rear from the south side of the west
(end) elevation. RCHM.
