Gateway. c1840. Brickwork in Flemish Garden Wall bond, with blue headers,
plinth. A Roman arch of the simplest form; a tall arch flanked by wide
pilasters, with a stone key and stucco impost band. At the top, simple
projecting brick bands mark a frieze and above this is a blocking course,
raised in the middle to support a thin slab, on which stands the figure of a
stag. Simple wrought iron gates. RCHM
